TECHNICAL ABILITIES
Glaze Formulation
And Troubleshooting:
Adept at glaze calculation and the use of Glaze-Chem computer software.  I also have experience teaching aspects of glaze calculation and formulation, including materials knowledge.
Clay Mixing: Extensive experience mixing and testing clay-bodies for all applications, the use and maintenance of mixing equipment such as Soldner and Blue Bird mixers and de-airing/mixing pug mills.  I also have knowledge of OSHA regulations regarding storage, usage and safety and cleanup/disposal of dry materials.
Mold-Making: I have the ability to do mold making in a production atmosphere, slip casting, press molding, RAM Press die fabrication, and jiggering and jollying.  Experience using multiple types of plasters, block and case type mold production as well as being well versed at hump mold and slump mold fabrication and usage and simple press molding techniques.
Kilns and Firing: Strong understanding firing electric kilns and using programmable controllers, Gas reduction and oxidation kilns (updraft, downdraft and cross draft), soda, salt, wood, raku and pit firing.  I have experience designing and building atmospheric kilns, have repaired electric and gas kilns; as well as electrical and plumbing knowledge.
Computer Skills: PC and Mac experience, Power Point, Photoshop and scanning experience, Word processing and spreadsheet fabrication.
Shop Skills: Strong hands on familiarity with wood shop tools as well as metal shop tools and small metals fabrication techniques.  Use of oxy-acetylene, oxy-propane, MIG, TIG, and arc welding equipment as well as the use of plasma cutter.  Some foundry experience as well, yet not extensive.
